Betis confidently beat Osasuna and gained a foothold at the top of the La Liga table

In the match of the 7th round of the Spanish La Liga, Betis confidently dealt with Osasuna on their own field, winning 2-0. The meeting was held at the Olimpico de Sevilla — La Cartuja stadium, where the hosts took the initiative from the first minutes and managed to realize the playing advantage in the first time.

In
the 19th minute, Betis's effective attack was completed by Ez Abde, who scored with an accurate shot after drawing a combination. This goal was the first for the Moroccan winger this season and significantly lifted the mood of the fans, who actively supported the team from the stands. Less than twenty minutes later, the advantage of Sevilla was doubled by Cucho Hernandez, who closed the partner's serve and left no chance for the Osasuna goalkeeper.

After the second goal, Betis did not slow down and continued to put pressure on the visitors' defense, creating several dangerous chances at the opponent's goal. Osasuna tried to win back, but the tight defense of the hosts and the confident play of the goalkeeper nullified the efforts of the Pamplonians. As a result, the second half of the meeting was under the control of Betis, and the score on the scoreboard remained unchanged — 2-0.

This victory was the fourth for Manuel Pellegrini's team of the season and allowed Betis to score 12 points, rising to sixth place in the standings. The Sevillians continue to fight for the Champions League zone, and such confident performances only strengthen their ambitions.

Osasuna, on the contrary, cannot yet boast of stability. After seven rounds, the Pamplona team has only 7 points, and it is on the 13th line. Head coach Hagoba Arrasate noted after the match that his players lacked concentration in key episodes, which gave the opponents too many opportunities to realize their chances.

In the next round, Betis will visit Espanyol on October 5, where they will try to extend their successful streak. Osasuna will host Getafe on October 3 and try to rehabilitate themselves in front of the fans.

It is
worth noting that the match at La Cartuja was another confirmation that Betis is able to compete not only for European cups this season, but also to compete with the leading clubs in Spain. Pellegrini's team has a balanced composition.: Abde and Hernandez are showing attacking acuity, and the defense is acting more and more smoothly. If the Sevillians keep the same form, they may well become one of the sensations of La Liga.
